Am still here

It is getting to that time of year again when exams are looming and there are still lectures to attend, practicals to go to and assignments to finish. This is the reason for my long absence over the past month. I have scored 4 exams this semester and two of those happen to be on the same day. : ( I most definitely am not looking forward to sitting on a metal chair for six hours that day in a very cold concrete hall. But on the up side at least thats two i can tick of the list once done. I am currently studying for sedimentary geology and i must say there are very few rocks to be seen while paper and books are ever present. lol

On top of study Noah our current guide dog in training had his assessment the other day. That week he received his letter telling him he made the cut and will be going onto more intense training which is like a nine till five job for him. Unfortunately he needs to be at Gillies Plains every day which is a bit far for us to drive so he will be staying with a bed and breakfast family till hopefully he completes his training and is matched with a client who is vision impaired. His sister on the other hand has had a change of career and is currently being assessed for a job in the SES. Fingers crossed. Nellie is the one with the pink bow in the photo below. This was Noah and Nellie's last play date before she moved on to join the SES crew.

OUr dear cat Tiger handled the attention from the two very well and actually enjoyed rubbing his head underneath their chins. However that is before he takes joy in swiping a paw filled with claw at their faces and seeing them run in shock. lol That cat really should appreciate them more as Noah is the only one to rush to the door when he wants to come in.

Below is Noah and my old man Tan. The two enjoy a walk in the morning before breakfast then a quick nap to recover. At about ten, just before dad puts coffee on the stove, both the boys go sit on the grass and enjoy the morning sun while watching the workings of the garden. Butterflies, chickens, birds and occasionally our rabbit Buddy roam the garden and really make the garden look busy.

Both the boys sleep in the house and being the older dog Tan does get first choice of the bed. Those choices are a bean bag or the framed bed. Noah really likes the framed bed and decided to try share it with Tan. I watched as he carefully stepped on and gently turned around and lowered his bum down while still being very aware of how Tan was feeling about this. It was very cute to watch and once settled Tan put his head on Noah's back. He really is a laid back and nice natured dog is my old man.

Between homework, work and actually going to uni i did manage to find time to make these very yummy hedgehog bites. Dad came to me with the recipe which he found in the sunday mail and said it looked really good. I was really happy with the result as it looked just like the picture and tasted just as good. only lasted a few days in our house.

Sadly our garden has been ever so neglected with time no where to be found in our house. Despite this i am still able to go for a walk and find wonderful colours. This is a geranium which Little Ma really likes to have in the garden. This particular plant sits in a blue pot outside our back windows. I love the colours of the flower and leaves against the royal blue.

back to the books till next time
